Boats in London have been used for everything from dinner cruises to ABBA-themed dance parties — but now, one is offering a whole new way to unwind: a floating sauna straight from Sweden.
Docked in Canary Wharf, this Scandinavian-style sauna boat brings the heat (literally) to the capital, offering a mix of steamy relaxation and icy plunges on the water.

Launching on April 26 — fittingly, World Sauna Day — this 15-person, wood-fired sauna offers a peaceful retreat right on London’s waterways, designed for city dwellers looking to decompress in a unique setting.
Created by Skuna Boats, the sauna boat combines a traditional Nordic heat experience with a 6°C cold plunge pool on the rooftop. For added atmosphere, DJs will play curated sets onboard, turning wellness into a scenic and social experience.
Skuna’s founder, Tommo Thompson, explained: “Our goal is to bring the powerful wellness benefits of saunas and cold plunges to the UK, starting in London. Saunas are a deeply social tradition in Scandinavia, and we want to reflect that with an unforgettable experience surrounded by city views and music.”
Plans are already in motion to bring similar sauna boats to cities across the UK — so this launch could be just the beginning.
The floating sauna will be open to the public from April 26, 2025 — World Sauna Day.
